The Retreat at Lakewood Forest

Greetings, I am Beverly McWhirter. My husband, Doug, and I live in Courtyard 3. We moved here in 2018 to be close to our daughter and grandchildren. I am also Secretary (3 days per week) for our church. We love living here and knowing the people around us.

 

During the first Board meeting that I attended, I volunteered for the VP position to finish out the term for a member that was moving. Then, the following year I was elected to the VP position and the next year to President. So, I have traveled this road before and will do my best, along with the other Board members, to keep our community beautiful and inviting, not only for you all but also for our new homeowners.

I was born in Madison County, TX, moved to Waller County and graduated Waller High School.  I married a Marine and lived in California, North Carolina, and Alabama before moving to El  Paso, TX to finish out our service career.  Moving back home after retiring, I completed my MBA at the University of Houston.  Bob and I moved into the Retreat at Lakewood Forest in 2008, to be closer to family and Texas A&M where Bob was class of 1962. We enjoyed attending A&M home football games and traveling during our retirement years until Bob passed away in 2019.  I hope to get to know everyone who lives in the Retreat and am happy to help out by serving as a Board Member.

Hello!  I moved into Courtyard 5 in June 2022.  I am originally from the New England area, but have been in the Northwest Houston area since 1983.

I have been in the mortgage business since 1985 and love what I do!  I fell in love with this little community from the moment I walked into my courtyard for the first time.  Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you have about The Retreat at Lakewood Forest!
